What people ask most about the game, online co-op, accounts and downloads.
Yes. It is free, with no in-game payments and no ads.
It is an unofficial remake of the 1988 arcade shoot 'em up: automatic side-scrolling to the right, a helicopter that flies free and a jeep with a machine gun that jumps and fires in an arc. It is made in 3D, played on a 2D plane, and adds destructible terrain, liquids that react with each other, weather and time of day.
Version 1.0 brings one complete level, the alpine level: a valley, a cave with a magma pocket, a snowy slope with an avalanche and a military base, with a mini-boss in each stretch and a giant mech as the final boss. It lasts 10 to 12 minutes plus the boss. The next levels will be announced later.
Easy, Normal and Hard, plus Veteran, unlocked by beating the level: more enemies, more aggressive and no extra lives. Each difficulty has its own time table.
Two people play and one of them hosts from their own game, with no match servers. You invite a friend or open a public room; the Silkworm server only introduces both computers so they connect directly.
Yes. Without a second player, a bot drives the other vehicle. If someone joins your run, they take the bot’s seat.
Free text chat is only between friends. In public rooms with strangers there are only predefined quick messages, such as “Ready!” or “Good game”.
Yes, on PC and on Android with a Bluetooth controller. On mobile there are touch controls too: a floating stick, fire with optional auto-fire, missile and jump.
Not to play solo. You do for online co-op, friends, time tables and to download and update the game: it is free and only asks for a nickname, an email and a password.
Email is only used to verify your account and recover your password. We send no newsletters or advertising.

The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen may show a warning. Check the SHA-256 shown on Downloads and click “More info” and “Run anyway”.
Yes. On start it checks for a new version: on Windows it installs the update and restarts; on Linux with the tar.gz it applies it on exit; with pacman it shows you the command; on Android it opens the installer for you to confirm.
The requirements on the Downloads page are indicative and will be tuned with measurements: as a reference, a GTX 1060-class graphics card with 8 GB of RAM for the minimum and an RTX 2060 with 16 GB for the recommended.
